I was hoping to find out how many hits the website gets. How do I go about checking the number of hits?  

Answer: 

Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel and click on the top link to "Site Summary / Statistics / Logs" and then click on "Webalizer" - it will give you more stats than you imagined about your site traffic.
